OF ART at the S.C. State Museum
This exhibition is the first in-depth look at the Museum’s largest single acquisition of fine, folk and contemporary artwork primarily by artists from the Palmetto State. Collected by one of South Carolina’s most active and enthusiastic art collectors, the exhibit features more than 100 works of art.

A Century of Women’s Purses
An exhibition about handbags and how lifestyle influenced not just design and fabrication but the contents of the purse. It tells the story of a woman’s role in society for the past 100 years from a new and unique perspective.

Space and Earth Technology has enabled us in the past 50 years to peer into outer space like never before, from rockets, moon landings and space stations to super telescopes and space shuttles.

This new exhibit contains images of planets, galaxies and many other fascinating cosmic entities taken from the Hubble Space Telescope. Come and learn how the Hubble Telescope discovers and records these spectacular images and the new information gathered about the universe in which we exist.

The exhibit focuses on space exploration using unmanned probes. Visitors can operate a model of the Mars rover. Ongoing.
