Science Theatre

Explore the amazing and exciting world of science in the Science Theatre, located on the museum’s 3rd floor. Discover the properties, uses and fun of super cool liquid nitrogen. Investigate light and lasers or examine the interactions of the eyes and brain through an optical illusions show. These fun weekend programs are offered free with paid museum admission.

Household Chemistry
We could not go a day without chemistry. It is found throughout each of our homes. Chemicals are used to purify drinking, make soaps and detergents, and as an ingredient in common household cleaners such as bleach, ammonia, and abrasive powders. Hands-on experiments will assist in learning about mixtures and solutions, proper handling of household chemicals.
 
Lunar Outpost I - Space, Satellites & The Spectrum
Explore how the tools on satellites orbiting planetary bodies use all wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. Find out what scientists hope to learn about the moon's shadowy areas using ultraviolet wavelengths.

Lunar Outpost II - Geology 
Explore how the moon and Earth are similar and different geologically. Using mineral samples from Earth, learn what makes some parts of the moon brighter than others.
